SUMMARY:2026 EFCT Externship March 23-26\, 2026 - Registration OPEN
DESCRIPTION:We are so pleased to offer this in-person EFT Externship 2026 at Whitworth University in Spokane\, and we are honored to have EFT Trainer Kathryn de Bruin\, LMFT guide us in our learning.  Last year’s externship was a fulfilling experience with 60 clinicians gathering for the 4 days to immerse themselves in EFCT and in the professional learning environment to experience the EFT community and the EWNIeft Community. \nCreated by Sue Johnson\, EFT is an experiential therapy for couples\, individuals and families that is emotion-focused\, attachment-based\, and process-oriented. EFCT Externship focuses more on applying EFT to partners/couples. Come learn this beautiful therapy model created by Sue Johnson.  We stand on her shoulders and we continue to spread her model and honor her legacy. \nThis is an official 4 Day Externship (24 hours of training) endorsed by the International Centre for Excellence in Emotionally Focused Therapy (ICEEFT) and in collaboration with Whitworth University Externship with Continuing Education units provided by TriEFT/Alliant.  EFT Externship provides the foundation for EFT learning and it is the first step in the certification process to become an ICEEFT Certified EFT Couples Therapist (EFCT). \nParticipants will see a live therapy demonstration by Kathryn de Bruin\, a powerful experiential learning tool. \n24 CEs are available for associate and licensed clinicians for a separate cost. \nAttending EFT Externship is the first step on the path to EFT Couples certification. \nPlease see the ICEEFT website for more information about EFT certification. \n  \nRegister Here\n  \nWHAT WILL I LEARN AT EXTERNSHIP? \n\nParticipants will obtain a clear understanding of the basic experiential and systemic concepts of an “Emotionally Focused” approach to therapy.\nParticipants will be able to view clients in the web of their interpersonal attachments and conceptualize relationship distress and repair based on theories of attachment and emotion.\nEFT is a relational therapy. The Externship will focus on the model of EFCT laid out in the 2019 book\, Attachment Theory in Practice\, and teach the model as implemented in couple therapy sessions.\nParticipants will develop skills in sharing and maintaining an engaged\, open and collaborative alliance with clients.\nParticipants will develop skills in the 5 moves of the basic macro-intervention – the EFT Tango – in order to change patterns of affect regulation\, models of self and other\, strategies for engaging others and interactional patterns.\nParticipants will develop skills in EFT micro interventions taken from experiential and attachment systemic models of intervention.\nParticipants will develop skills in overcoming common blocks and impasses in couple therapy and so shape core corrective emotional experiences that lead to constructive dependency and what Rogers termed ‘existential living.’\n\n  \nWHO IS THIS TRAINING FOR?  \nEFT core trainings are designed for mental health professionals\, therapists\, counselors and trainees. Participants are required to note their professional affiliation at registration. \nLife coaches are not permitted to attend unless they also meet one of the mental health professional categories listed above. \n  \nSCHEDULE AND AGENDA  \nExternship will meet March 23-26\, 2026 from 9am-4:30pm. \nEach day\, we will have a 15 minute break in the morning\, a 1 hour lunch on your own\, and a 15 minute break in the afternoon. \nPrior to the training\, each registered participant will receive a welcome letter via email with more details including parking and local lunch spots. \n  \nThe Agenda will be (subject to change): \nMonday:       Welcome and attachment theory \nTuesday:       EFT Stage 1 with videos of real session \nWednesday:  EFT Stage 2 with videos of real session \nThursday:     EFT with individuals (EFIT) and EFT with families (EFFT) \n  \nFEES AND CLOSING DATES \n** With new tax changes in the State of Washington there is now a tax charge for all in person trainings. \n** For this event there is a 8.9% interest charge added to all ticket prices. \n  \nEarly bird — $1050 + 8.9% = $1\,143.45  (ends Jan 24\, 2026) \nRegular  —  $1145 + 8.9% = $1\,246.91 \nAssociate/Military — $925 + 8.9% = $1\,007.33 \nStudents  — $725 + 8.9% = $789.53 \nDiversity — reach out to ewnieft@gmail.com \n  \nCANCELLATION & REFUND  POLICY \nWhen you register and pay for this or any EWNIEFT Community event\, your registration fee is used in advance to support essential event costs\, including trainer honoraria and facility-related expenses. As a non-profit organization\, EWNIEFT depends on each event to be financially self-sustaining. \nWe appreciate your understanding that these commitments are made well ahead of the event\, and changes can affect our ability to offer future trainings within our community. To balance flexibility with these responsibilities\, the following cancellation policy applies: \n\n\nCancellations received 30 days or more prior to the start date of the training are eligible for a refund minus a $50 non-refundable administrative fee. \n\n\nCancellations received within 30 days of the start date are not eligible for a refund; however\, the registration fee may be applied as a credit toward a future EWNIEFT Community–sponsored event within two years of the original event date. \n\n\nIf a participant has registered and does not attend all or part of an Externship\, Core Skills module\, or Master Class training without prior notice\, we are unable to offer a refund or credit. \n\n\nWe regret that exceptions cannot be made to this policy and appreciate your understanding. \nIf you have questions or need clarification\, please contact info@ewnieft.com. \nCEU Information \n \nSpokane Externship March 2026 \n \n  \nPREREQUISITE AND SEQUENCE \nICEEFT recommends taking Fundamentals of EFT prior to this course. SUMMARY:Pulling Back the Curtain on EFCT Certification Clips
DESCRIPTION:Friday\, September 26\, 2025              12pm – 2pm pacific time zone on Zoom\n\n  \nMany people have felt disheartened or discouraged by the EFCT certification process\, and for some that can shake confidence and or even contribute to believing that certification is not possible for them.  \nThe aim of this training is to show that passing certification work can be imperfect. A clinician can be growing more comfortable with EFCT work\, developing their EFT style and growing their skill set\, and still have “passing” work. \n\nIn this 2 hour training\, I will show both of my certification clips.  I will point out parts of my work that I liked at the time\, and point out moments that were leading edges for me — and I still got certified. I will also emphasize how my style was a work in progress then and how it has grown. I will also point out tango moves\, affect assembly pieces\, and cycle tracking moments. \n  \nThis training is for those who have considered certification\, those who have leaned away from certification\, and those who are working towards certification\, and those who have felt discouraged along the way. A future training will be offered geared towards supervisors using these certification clips.  \n\nTranscripts of both certification clips will be provided with various interventions labeled. \n\nThis training will not be recorded. \n  \n  \nFor more information and to register\,  click here:     \nhttps://www.re2therapy.com/ronda-evans-efct-certification-clips \n  \n  \nDue to popular demand\, this training will be offered again in early November 2025 (minimum registrations required). \n  \n  \n  \n

SUMMARY:EFCT Externship 2025
DESCRIPTION:We are so pleased to offer this in-person EFT Externship 2025 at Whitworth University in Spokane\, and we are honored to have EFT Trainer Kathryn de Bruin\, LMFT guide us in our learning.  Last year’s externship was a fulfilling experience with 60 clinicians gathering for the 4 days to immerse themselves in EFCT and in this professional learning environment to experience first-hand the EFT community. Coming Soon!   Check back soon for the CE link. \nAttending EFT Externship is the first step on the path to EFT Couples certification.  Please see the ICEEFT website for more information about EFT certification. \n  \nWHAT WILL I LEARN AT EXTERNSHIP? \n\nParticipants will obtain a clear understanding of the basic experiential and systemic concepts of an “Emotionally Focused” approach to therapy.\nParticipants will be able to view clients in the web of their interpersonal attachments and conceptualize relationship distress and repair based on theories of attachment and emotion.\nEFT is a relational therapy. The Externship will focus on the model of EFCT laid out in the 2019 book\, Attachment Theory in Practice\, and teach the model as implemented in couple therapy sessions.\nParticipants will develop skills in sharing and maintaining an engaged\, open and collaborative alliance with clients.\nParticipants will develop skills in the 5 moves of the basic macro-intervention – the EFT Tango – in order to change patterns of affect regulation\, models of self and other\, strategies for engaging others and interactional patterns.\nParticipants will develop skills in EFT micro interventions taken from experiential and attachment systemic models of intervention.\nParticipants will develop skills in overcoming common blocks and impasses in couple therapy and so shape core corrective emotional experiences that lead to constructive dependency and what Rogers termed ‘existential living.’\n\n  \n WHO IS THIS TRAINING FOR? WHAT WILL I LEARN AT EXTERNSHIP? \nAll mental health professionals including psychiatrists\, psychologists\, family physicians\, social workers\, psychiatric nurses\, counsellors (including couples and family therapists)\, pastors and clergy\, and students training in these professions. EFT is a short-term (8-20 sessions) structured approach to couples therapy. There is a substantial body of research outlining the effectiveness of EFT. Research studies find that 70-75% of couples move from marital distress to recovery and approximately 90% show significant improvements. There is also research on the change process and predictors of success. A segment on EFT for individuals will also be included. \nEFT is based on a clear\, explicit attachment conceptualization of marital distress and adult love. These conceptualizations are supported by empirical research on the nature of marital distress and adult attachment. EFT is collaborative and respectful of clients. Change strategies and interventions are specific and clear\, and key moves and moments in the change process have been mapped into nine steps and three stages of change. \nThe goals of EFT are to: 1) expand and re-organize key emotional responses; 2) create a shift in partner’s interactional positions and initiate new cycles of interaction; and 3) foster the creation of a secure bond between partners. \nThis 4-day beginning externship is designed to help therapists have an immersive didactic and experiential conceptualization of the EFT model. There will be lecture\, role plays\, handouts\, group interactions and demonstrations with a live couple\, to help the participant understand and be able to apply the principles of EFT in their own practice of couple therapy upon completion of this externship. \n\nSpecific Learning Objectives for each day of the externship: \nDay 1: Introduction to Attachment Theory & the Process of EFT \n1.
