SUMMARY:September 2026 Quarterly Meeting w/ EFT Trainer Rachel Thomas
DESCRIPTION:Join us on Zoom for our September Quarterly Meeting with EFT Trainer Rachel Thomas. We are so excited to have Rachel back to join us. \nDate: September 11\, 2026 \nTime: 9am-11am PST \nTopic: Engaging The Withdrawer’s Heart: From Protection to Emotional Risk in EFT \nTraining Summary: This training will deepen your understanding of the withdrawer’s attachment experience. You will learn how to move beyond behavior to the protective strategies\, longings\, and emotional risks that shape their cycle position. We will explore how to conceptualize the withdrawer in a nuanced way and how to track the subtle cues that signal readiness for engagement.Participants will learn concrete\, practical interventions for accessing the withdrawer’s emotional world in both Stage 1 and Stage 2 of EFT. We’ll look at how to work with protection and de-escalation in Stage 1\, and how to support emotional risk and enactments in Stage 2 without overwhelming or over-structuring. Through video examples\, therapist micro-move analysis\, and evocative group discussion\, we’ll slow the process down and unpack what actually creates movement with withdrawers. The focus will be experiential\, practical\, and deeply attachment-centered with the goal of helping you feel more confident and precise in engaging the withdrawer’s heart. \nFree for EWNIEFT members! \nNonmembers: $20 \nRegister Here\n

SUMMARY:Sex & EFT with George Faller and Laurie Watson in Spokane\, Washington - OPEN
DESCRIPTION:EWNIEFT is pleased to announce a \n2 Day Masterclass Workshop   \n  \nSex & EFT  \n George Faller\, EFT Trainer \nDr. Laurie Watson\, Certified EFT & AASECT Therapist \nOctober 16-17\, 2026 \nIn Person in Spokane \nREGISTER HERE \n  \n\nRequirement \nAll participants will have to have completed Externship in order to register and attend. \n  \nJoin EFT Trainer George Faller and certified sex therapist and EFT therapist\, Dr. Laurie Watson for an engaging exploration of sexual attachment in couple relationships. Drawing from Emotionally Focused Therapy\, participants will learn how emotional and sexual cycles interact\, how to identify a couple’s negative sexual attachment cycle\, and how to help partners create greater emotional and erotic connection. Through teaching\, case examples\, and video demonstrations\, therapists will gain practical tools for integrating sexuality into EFT and addressing one of the most powerful forces shaping the couple bond. \n\n\n– Learning Objectives:\n\n\nIdentify the key assumptions of attachment theory as they apply to adult sexuality and romantic bonding.\nName the two primary sexual motives associated with secure sexual attachment.\nDescribe hypoactivating and hyperactivating attachment strategies in the negative sexual cycle.\nIdentify the emotional and sexual pursue-withdraw cycles and explain how they interact to shape relationship distress and connection.\nList three qualities of secure sexual attachment.\nConduct a sexual assessment and identify common blocks to discussing sexuality in couple therapy.\nExplain why seeking permission to discuss sexuality can facilitate greater openness and disclosure in therapy.\nUtilize specificity in a couple’s sexual encounter description to assemble\, deepen\, distill\, and share emotional experience.\nExplain the impact of sexual dysfunctions on attachment security and the couple’s relational cycle.\nDiscuss common therapeutic impasses in the emotional and sexual cycle and apply EFT Stage 1 interventions to reduce reactivity and de-escalate conflict.\nApply EFT Stage 2 interventions to restructure the sexual cycle\, promote vulnerability\, and create new bonding interactions.\nHelp couples communicate sexual needs\, desires\, fears\, and longings in ways that foster responsiveness\, secure bonding\, and greater sexual fulfillment.\n\n  \n\n\nSex Is Not a Specialty: Practical Tools for Integrating Sexual Attachment into Couple Therapy \nTherapists have often been taught that sexuality is a specialty area\, but it cannot be separated from couple therapy. Attachment theory suggests that romantic relationships are organized around three interconnected systems: emotional attachment\, caregiving\, and sexuality. Together\, these systems shape the strength and security of the bond. Sexuality\, in particular\, contributes the vitality\, excitement\, and longing that help sustain romantic connection. The power of sex in a relationship lies not only in physiology and pleasure. It’s a force for attachment. \nUnfortunately\, many couple therapists receive little training in how to address sexual concerns directly. Using an Emotionally Focused Therapy framework and inclusive language that affirms the diversity of sexual experiences and identities\, this presentation provides a practical roadmap for assessing and intervening in the sexual cycle. Participants will learn to identify emotional and sexual pursue-withdraw patterns\, assess how emotional and sexual cycles continuously reinforce and influence one another\, and help couples recognize and transform the attachment meanings underlying sexual conflict. \nThe presentation includes practical strategies for introducing conversations about sex\, conducting a comprehensive sexual assessment\, understanding developmental and life-cycle challenges that affect sexuality\, conceptualizing common sexual dysfunctions through an attachment lens\, and working with Stage 1 de-escalation and Stage 2 restructuring of the sexual cycle. Through case examples and video demonstrations\, therapists will learn concrete interventions for addressing blocks to emotional and sexual engagement\, repairing sexual injuries\, and fostering secure bonding. \n\n– Daily Agendas (may shift slightly)\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n9-10 \n\n\nRomantic Behavioral Cycles & Sexual Attachment (includes research on polarization in sexual cycle for same-sex couples) \n\n\n\n\n10 – 11 \n\n\nPuruer/withdrawer Dynamic – in Emotional and Sexual Cycles (distinguished from functional initiating/response cycle in sex) \n\n\n\n\n11-12 \n\n\nBringing Up Sex; Permission Seeking/Giving; Includes Self of the Therapist Issues \n\n\n\n\n1:15-3:00 \n3:00-4:30 \n\n\nStage 1 in the Sexual Cycle \nLive plus debrief \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n9:00-9:30 \n\n\nImpact of Attachment Style on Sexual Motive \n\n\n\n\n9:30-10:30 \n11:30-12:30 \n\n\n\n\n\n\nAnatomy & Physiology (includes Transgender with Hormone Therapy\, Gender-affirming surgery on functioning; ) \n\n\n\n\nSexual Assessment (includes self of the therapist/cultural humility issues for differences in sexual orientation (LGB and asexual)/gender identity/non-binary\, in non-traditional relationships\, in styles of sex play) \n\n\n\n\n2:15-3:15 \n\n\nFive Common Sexual Dysfunctions (sexual pain\, erectile dysfunction\, early ejaculation\, low libido\, anorgasmia) from an Attachment Framework \n\n\n\n\n3:15-4:30 \n\n\nStage 2 \n\n\n\n\n\n\n  \nRequirement \nAll participants will have to have completed Externship in order to register and attend. \n  \nFEES AND CLOSING DATES \nEWNIEFT Member — $375 \nEarly bird — $475 (ends July 31\, 2026) \nRegular  —  $500 \nStudent/Military — $400 \nDiversity — We have 3 available @ $300 each.
